Eastminster United Church

This is a large church which hosts many community activites throughout the week. Toronto Dance conducts dance classes in Latin, Ballroom, Salsa, and Swing/West Coast Swing at this location.

Note: After 8:30pm, the doors are locked. Use the door bell on the side entrance if you arrive after 8:30pm.

Building Location and Directions

Eastminster United Church is located at 310 Danforth Ave, on the north side of the street. It is one street west of Chester Ave. Enter via the side entrance off Jackman Ave, go up one floor and go into the Auditorium (for Salsa and Swing classes). The Latin-Ballroom classes are held in the Hurndale Room which is down one floor, past the men's washroom, turn right and go down a hallway.

Directions via TTC

Go on the Bloor-Danforth Line. Go 4 stops east of the Bloor-Yonge station to the Chester subway station. Exit the Chester subway station which faces east. Turn right to Danforth Ave. Turn right again so that you are heading west. Go one street west to Jackman Ave. The church is on the North-West corner. You will see the entrance off Jackman Ave.

Directions via Driving

Drive along Danforth Ave, east of Broadview/DVP and west of Pape Ave. Look for parking around Chester Ave (which is halfway between Danforth and Pape).

If you are driving north or south on the DVP, exit the Bloor St. exit, which loops around and ends at Bloor St. Turn left (east).

Dance Hall

The Salsa-Nightclub and Swing group classes are held in the Auditorium which is one floor up from the street level. The floor is wood. There is a little stage area in the room. Here is a picture of the dance hall.

The Latin-Ballroom group classes are held in the Hurndale Room which is one floor down from the street level.

The private lessons (also wedding choreography lessons) are held in the Boardroom which is also one floor up from the street level but you would go past the Auditorium to the other side of the building. The floor is wood.

Parking

There is free street parking around the residential area if it is available. There are also small parking lots (see map) and meter parking along Danforth Ave. One parking lot is at Jackman Ave (across from the church's side entrance) at $2/h. A cheaper parking lot is on the east side of Chester, across from the TTC subway entrance at $1.50/h.
