We offer quality dance classes in Latin, Ballroom, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Tap, etc., and Wedding Dance Lessons in downtown Toronto. Toronto Dance is a dance school that specializes in beginner lessons so we excel in teaching absolute beginners. Over 90% of our students are 20 to 40 years old.

• LB1 = Latin-Ballroom level 1: Cha Cha, Jive, Rumba, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango
• LB2 = Latin-Ballroom level 2: Continuation of level 1 with International Waltz, Tango
• LB3 = Latin-Ballroom level 3: Continuation of level 2 with International Foxtrot, Samba, Quickstep



• SN1 = Salsa-Nightclub level 1: Merengue, Bachata, Salsa
• SN2 = Salsa-Nightclub level 2: continuation of level 1
• SN3 = Salsa-Nightclub level 3: continuation of level 2, double-spins
• SN4 = Salsa-Nightclub level 4: S-turn, lasso, spider, etc
• SLF = Salsa Leading-Following: Fine tune your leading and following (Salsa 2 pre-requisite)

We are currently recommending certain practice sessions for Toronto Dance students.

• Latin-Ballroom: Wed 7:30-11:00pm
• Latin-Ballroom: Thurs 8:00-11:00pm
• Latin-Ballroom: Fri 8:00pm to midnight
• Latin-Ballroom: Sat 8:00pm to midnight
• Salsa: Sat 3:30-5:30pm and 5:30-7:30pm
• Salsa: Tue 9:30pm to midnight
• Swing: Every other Fri 8:00pm to midnight with TSDS
• Lindy Hop: Wed 8:30-9:30pm

Give a gift of dance to friends and family. Toronto Dance offers gift certificates for all occassions:

• Special occassions such as Valentine's, Graduations, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthdays and Anniversaries

The gift certificate will be emailed to you once it is customized. There is no additional charge for the gift certificate if you can print it yourself on a colour or b&w printer. Wedding Dance Choreography Lessons

Do you have a wedding coming up? Toronto Dance offers wedding dance choreography for your special dance. Also remember about lessons for dances with your parents, wedding party, bridal shower/party, and stagette. Most (80%) of our students complete an entire choreography within 3 1-hour private dance lessons! We charge $80/hour for one couple or $65/hour for couples who have taken our group classes. We are teaching private lessons at the Adelaide Club (click here) and at the Eastminster United Church (click here) If your wedding is more than 3-4 months away, we recommend that you attend our group classes so that you are more prepared by the time you wish to work on your choreography. If you know of a couple getting married and would like to give them a a wedding gift, consider a gift certificate for them to learn how to dance to their special song. You may also hire an instructor to perform or conduct a class at the reception.

Cancellation Policy: Once you've book a private lesson, you must cancel by 2:00pm two business days before your lesson to avoid a cancellation charge. For example, if you lesson is booked on Sat, you must cancel by Thurs 2pm. If you cancel after the time limit or don't show up, you must pay a $25 cancellation charge. Because of this policy, you must pay an additional $25 that will be used as credit toward your final lesson. If you decide not to continue with additional lessons, that $25 will be returned to you.

Our Dance Students

The majority of our students range in age from 20 to 40 years old. You can see photos of them in our photos page. About 20% of them are singles in Latin-Ballroom and about 70% of them are singles in Salsa-Nightclub.

For our group classes, we have students who travel from Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, St.Catharines, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Brampton, Mississauga, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Markham, Peterborough, Ajax and Oshawa. For our private lessons or wedding dance preparation lessons, we have students from as far as Niagara Falls, Sudbury, Quebec City, New York City, Cincinnati, Dallas Texas, Orange Country California and London England!

Toronto Dance on TV "Living Romance" Sun 2005-02-13

Toronto Dance will appear on TV with some Toronto Dance students. Chuan Chee is teaching a beginner class in Waltz, Rumba, and Tango to some students and to the host and hostess. Chuan and Jean are also interviewed about why is dancing romantic, etc. The show will be slightly humourous.

The show is on the W Network. In Toronto, it is Rogers cable 27.

It is Episode #13 "Dance Romance": Hosts Ramona Milano and Jonathan Torrens are determined to perfect the world’s most romantic dances – but first they have to conquer Ramona’s competitiveness and Jonathan’s two left feet! We sniff out the right way to buy perfume for a partner, and discover how a simple massage can transform a harried relationship between lovers.

Toronto Dance Performance at "Fashion Cares" Sat 2004-05-29

Several Toronto Dance performers are performing on the big stage at the 18th Annual Fashion Cares gala benefit for the Aids Committee of Toronto. The event is held on Sat May 29 in front of 5600 guests. The M•A•C VIVA GLAM SUPERSTAR features an exclusive cocktail reception, bargain–filled boutique and auctions, a decadent dinner, followed by a shameless music and fashion extravaganza, and a dance-driven after party.

Entertainers include fashion icon Linda Evangelista as host, diva legend Patti Labelle, Simone Denny (singer of Queer Eye’s “All Things” theme), Kristine W (reigning queen of Billboard’s dance charts), Lena Love, DJ The Lady Bunny, DJ Escape and DJ Matt C — with more names still to be announced.

The following Toronto Dance performers will be performing at the Superstar Extravaganza 10:30pm to midnight:

We were on CP24 TV station on Sun May 30 morning. There was a quick shot of Jean and Chuan Chee doing the Cha Cha. A 1-hour special of "Fashion Cares" will be shown on the Fashion Television station very soon.

Toronto Dance on TV "Surreal Gourmet" Thurs,Mon 2003-10-09,13

Jean and Chuan Chee of Toronto Dance will appear on "Surreal Gourmet", a weekly show on the Food Network. There are 4 couples dancing in the rain (literally): Salsa, Rumba, Waltz, and Tango. Unfortunately we are not involved in any of the cooking but we will be dancing and eating.
